At Chiki Buttah, we’re passionate about protecting the environment and supporting sustainable initiatives.
As we celebrate our planet and all its natural wonders, we also reflect on ways that we can do our part to protect and preserve it. As a brand that believes in the importance of all-natural, sustainable products, we know that taking care of the environment is crucial to the health and well-being of our planet.
That’s why we’re excited to shine a light on solar power, a clean and renewable source of energy that is helping to transform the way we power our lives. The truth is that solar power can be easily implemented into our everyday lives and it is a great complement (not total replacement) to oil and gas. This way we do not need to be so reliant on fossil fuels.
Oil and gas are not going away anytime soon but, let’s face it, they are not renewable resources. In other words, there is a finite amount. Keep in mind, as the supply diminishes the prices will continue to increase. So, it is a good idea to use solar energy as a backup.
Solar renewable energy is becoming mainstream now more than ever. Did you know that solar power has been around since 1884? There are already ways that solar power is being used today that many of us are not even aware of. Just a few examples are; traffic lights, outdoor lighting for landscape and flashlights, powering water heaters and pumps, solar ovens, and other appliances, of course, solar calculators have been around since the 1960s! Even the oil and gas industries have adopted solar farms for help in drilling, processing, and refining.
To some people, the idea of our ever-changing world can be uncomfortable and trigger fear and resistance. The truth is that solar power is a renewable energy source that can be easily implemented into our everyday lives. Our infrastructure is in the process of changing. Our government is propelling this project forward because they know that this is a necessary step to move in the direction of adopting a renewable energy source….solar energy. This is why there are government incentives, right now, to support this change. Now, is a great time for people to take advantage of these opportunities.
Owning your own power will give you peace of mind. Our power grids are not as stable as they once were due to the number of people and our overall consumption of energy. We are well aware of power outages that are happening more and more frequently. The electric companies have been raising prices more often every year for various reasons and there is no way to have any sense of control. We seem to just accept this and pay the new prices without thinking twice about it as we simply succumb to this as the “new normal”. The truth is that we have the “power” to take back control by adopting solar energy as a complement to our daily lives.
Reducing our carbon footprint is essential for protecting the health of our planet and preserving its natural beauty. By choosing eco-friendly and sustainable products, we can all make a difference in reducing our carbon footprint.
Additionally, we can reduce our energy consumption by using energy-efficient appliances and lighting, turning off lights and electronics when not in use, and reducing our reliance on single-use plastics. Every small action we take adds up to make a significant impact on the health of our planet. And one of the actions that I’d like to bring up is the adoption of solar power.
The environmental benefits of solar power are numerous and significant. This means that using solar power can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and help mitigate the negative impact of climate change.
By harnessing the power of the sun, we can create a more sustainable and resilient energy system that supports the health of our planet and everybody’s health in general.
Solar power is not only good for the environment, but it can also be a smart financial investment. By installing solar panels in your home or business, you can significantly reduce your monthly electricity bills. Over time, these savings can add up and provide a significant return on investment.
So not only are you doing your part to help the environment, but you’re also making a wise financial decision by investing in solar power. By celebrating Earth Day and promoting solar power, we hope to inspire others to join us in our mission to respect and protect our planet.
In conclusion, as we celebrate Earth Day and reflect on our impact on the planet, it’s important to consider the ways in which we can contribute to a more sustainable future. Here at Chikibuttah, we remain committed to using all-natural ingredients and recyclable packaging to reduce our carbon footprint. Let’s all work together to make a positive impact on the environment and create a brighter future for us all.
Organic skin care products use natural ingredients that are safer and healthier than synthetic chemicals found in conventional products.
Did you know American brands can use the terms clean, all natural and organic on their packaging with no regulation? As more of us look to lead a life with fewer chemicals in it, our quest for clean products is gaining popularity. What makes a product clean and organic?
Organic: Ingredients grown without the involvement of pesticides, artificial fertilizers and any other synthetic ingredients. Something that exists in nature and has not been modified by chemistry done in a laboratory.
According to the standard of organic law, a product has to be between 95-100 % organic and chemical-free. You can find lots of certified organic companies and lots of companies that use all organic ingredients but choose not to go through the long and arduous process of becoming certified organic because it is an expensive and complex process. There are even some certified organic products that have ingredients that are questionable. So what it all comes down to is reading and understanding what’s on your product labels.
Organic skin care products should be formulated with certified organic raw materials strictly from nature. Here are some tips to look out for to ensure the quality and integrity of a product.
Learn about their ethics, standards and mission statement in order to build trust and confidence to know that what you are buying are in fact high-quality products.
Organic skin care is a good example of a category of products where you need to be careful about the company that sells it. Some companies use harmful chemicals in their products along with organic ingredients, which can be misleading. The chemicals can have a negative impact on your skin’s health.
Companies are always looking for key marketing words or phrases that are popular and relevant for the times. These marketing strategies are constantly changing according to what is in demand at the moment.
Because of the growing demand for clean personal care products these days, there are some key things to look out for.
Examples of this are: All natural, green, healthy, clean, non-toxic, organic, eco friendly etc…
The truth is there are lots of companies touting that their products are clean, all natural and organic but if you read the ingredients you will see in fact, that isn’t so.
Unfortunately at this time there are no laws against this false advertisement, so it is up to us to make sure we understand what is actually in the products we are purchasing. If you are ever unsure about an ingredient you can always refer to the Environmental Working Group. Just type in the ingredient or brand name and you will find your answer. An amazing resource!
According to extensive research “The Never List” are known ingredients that can cause health issues anywhere from allergic reactions to reproductive issues and cancer.
I always stress the importance of becoming a label detective so that you can be informed as to what you are putting on or inside your body. Remember the skin is our largest organ that absorbs everything we slather on our body! It’s the things that we do every day that accumulate and can have an impact on us, be it good or bad. Becoming a label detective is the first step in truly taking charge of your health.
Remember, it’s up to us to take control of what we introduce onto our skin and into our homes. Familiarize yourself with safe ingredients, read your labels and do your own research.
You will discover there are tons of products out there that are formulated and composed of mostly synthetic ingredients with just a few organic ingredients in the mix. If you read the labels on these products you’ll find most of the ingredients difficult to pronounce, which brings me to introduce to you “The Never List”.
Side note, when creating Chiki Buttah Products we prohibit the use of these harmful chemicals on this list:
You can keep this list as a reference and check your labels to see if any of these ingredients are lurking in your products. Again if you are unsure about something just check it with the EWG skin deep link.
My philosophy is the more informed we are, the better choices we can make in regards to our health and well-being.
Personal care products are some of the most unregulated and toxic products on the market. We must be diligent and open our eyes to the truth and be proactive to make a difference in our own health and the health of our loved ones.
Please feel free to share this information so we can cultivate more awareness on this subject.
Chiki Buttah is looking out for you! We got you covered in truly clean and organic products!
Wishing you all the best in health, peace and love,
Kim Keeshin 💙
Earth Day is just around the corner. That means it’s time to get ready for a day of collective environmental awareness.
Things happen and manifest when we combine our collective focus and intention for the greater good of all. I urge you to keep this intention in mind and realize that you doing even one new thing to help yourself and/or the environment will make a difference.
So, what are some ways we can go green?
Going green doesn’t mean that you have to give up all your comforts and conveniences. It’s about making smarter choices such as recycling, conserving water and energy, buying in bulk and just being more aware about the subject in general, to guide your daily choices.
Another way you can go green is by removing chemicals from your life. Chemicals not only undermine our health but also leach into our water supply, which has led to an increase in cases of cancer and other illnesses in recent years.
By removing these chemicals from your life, you’ll be doing your part to help support the health of you and your family as well as help the environment.
Clean products are not only good for the environment, but they also have a lot of benefits for our skin and overall health.
Make clean products part of your daily routine and feel good about your choices in the direction of better health and a safer, cleaner environment.
As the world becomes more and more toxic, it is essential to use natural, clean products on our skin, hair and body.
Going green at home is about making your home a healthier and safer place to live. Start by considering the products you buy.
The most important thing we can do is to be mindful about the things that we buy. Ask yourself, “Is this supporting my health? Does it have chemicals in the ingredients? Do I really need this? Can I find a healthier version?”
We should look for products that are made from sustainable materials and are easy to recycle or upcycle. This way, we will have less waste to deal with in our homes and less pollution in the environment.
Simply put, the use of natural, clean products is a way to go green and reduce your carbon footprint. Just by choosing to use non toxic products for cleaning can help reduce air pollution, water pollution and detox your home.
It is not always easy to be environmentally friendly at work, but with a few recycling tips, you can make it easier for yourself and for the environment.
A good recycling tip is to keep an eye out for items that are recyclable so you can recycle with confidence and not have to give it a second thought.
Always recycle paper, cardboard and plastic bottles and glass, as these are the most popular recyclables in offices.
Earth Day is a time for people all over the world to come together and take a moment to appreciate how special our Earth is – it’s our home and it is up to us to preserve the health and beauty of our planet for future generations.
This Earth Day, make a pledge to go green and take steps in the direction of protecting our planet.
More and more people these days are realizing the importance of recycling. In our modern day world it is all about fast, convenient and on the go. So, with that leaves a lot of waste!
Packaging is a necessary part of life, but it presents challenges for getting into the important practice of recycling. It can get complicated these days as some products, such as padded envelopes, food packaging and personal care products are made up of multiple materials, and most recycling processing facilities are not set up to dismantle multi-layer products. Because recycling can get complicated most people do not have the time nor the patience to learn how to recycle correctly and therefore decide not to recycle at all.
Recycling benefits the environment by re-using hundreds of millions of pounds of valuable materials instead of sending them to landfills. Also, recycling valuable materials reduces millions of metric tons of greenhouse emissions annually (less manufacturing and less waste) creating healthier air and cleaner waterways. Recycling also reduces the constant need for sourcing new raw materials.
Recycling creates jobs and supports our economy. As recently as 2017, recycling generated $117 billion in economic activity and $13.2 billion in tax revenue. Today, recycling employs more than 156,000 men and women nationwide and could create more than 1 million new jobs within the next two decades. Recycling benefits future generations by decreasing our use and reliance on natural resources, decreasing overly wasteful landfills, and decreasing water and air pollution.
I’d like to offer some simple ways in which you can start recycling today. Once you get in the mindset and habit, it will become effortless and something you can feel good about by making your contribution toward minimizing waste!
The #1 thing you can do right now to minimize waste is simply reusing things. I’m always seeking out ways to reduce plastic waste where possible. I think most of us are aware of the negative impact that plastic is having on our environment. Did you know that each year, eight million metric tons of plastic are thrown into the ocean, wreaking havoc on the oceanic ecosystem.
Precycle before you recycle…
In other words, think about how you can reuse something. For example: when you go to the market, instead of using more plastic bags for your veggies, have some reusable bags with you.
For food storage you can purchase reusable silicone bags instead of the non recyclable ziplock bags.
Say goodbye to bottled water! Have a reusable stainless steel water bottle instead that you can take with you wherever you go.
Use cloth napkins instead of paper even when you take a lunch with you.
Learn how to live without saran wrap! Here is one of my favorite remedies.
Keep it simple and focus on the most commonly recycled items such as: paper, glass, aluminum and plastic. This way you can feel confident about what to recycle.
This will help to keep foul odors from spoiled food and help the recycling process go smoother at the recycling plants.
You can also check on your local refuse providers website to learn the do’s and don’ts about recycling in your area. This way you can build your knowledge on the subject, and be a big help to those around you that are also learning.
Recycling more at home does not require that much effort. Just have a designated place to store your recycled materials in the house, whether this is a box, bin or bag.
Flatten cardboard boxes so that you can fit more recyclables into your bin. Use a plastic box cutter to make it more effortless. (Find it here.)
All plastic bottles can be recycled, from water bottles to salad dressing to laundry detergent containers. (Make sure to always attach the lid)
Newspapers, wrapping paper, envelopes, birthday cards, phone books, catalogues and even toilet and paper towel tubes.
Most metallic items can be recycled, such as empty spray cans, tin foil, all empty soda, fruit, vegetable and other food cans.
All glass containers and bottles can be recycled.
Make sure and always attach the lids to any containers so they are not falling into the pool of recycled materials that can clog up the machines at the recycling plants.
All of these items below are NOT recyclable.
Best Buy accepts most electronics and large appliances. All U.S. stores, including those in Puerto Rico, offer in-store programs for customers to bring their old, unused, or unwanted electronics for recycling, no matter where they were purchased.
Best Buy also recycles other products such as; batteries, ink cartridges, computers, printers and hundreds of other items. Way to go Best Buy! Recycling just got a whole lot easier!
Bring your empty cosmetic tubes, bottles and jars — regardless of brand — to an Origins retail store or department store counter, and they will recycle it all for you, for free!
Statistics back from the 90s estimated that Americans throw away some 2 billion razors each year! It’s 2022 now, imagine the number now! 😱
This is a great article that will show you exactly what to do with your diposable razors.
Did you know that you can recycle most of your Chiki Buttah product containers?
Simply remove the middle disk that pushes the product up and toss the container with the lid attached in the recycle bin.
You can put the entire container in the bin!
Throw the dropper in the regular trash bin and the glass bottle can go in the recycle bin.
Throw the pump in the trash and the bottles in the recycle bin.
Our 2,4 and 8oz jars are all recyclable! Just make sure and place the lid on before you toss in the bin.
Recycling your empty 2,4,8 or 64 oz containers is easy. Toss the spray top in the regular trash and the rest goes in the recycle bin!
Here at Chiki Buttah products, we are committed to reducing our footprint on the environment by adopting clean living standards. All of our choices from raw materials, methods in making products and all of our packaging, are based on the foundation of creating a softer footprint. We are passionate about building conscious communities and being part of the bigger picture so we can help make a positive impact for the future of our planet, our home. 💙
Please save the information in this blog as a reference and share with all of your friends and family so we can all recycle with confidence and feel good about our contribution toward positive change.
I hope that you are inspired to adopt some of these recycling practices today!
If we all do even just a little everyday we can make a big difference!
If we don’t take care of our home, where are we going to live?
I am confident that we can do this together!
Wishing you all the best in health, peace love and a cleaner planet, 🍃

On March 6, 2021 Chiki Buttah was featured on Newsweek.
As a lifestyle brand with a mission to provide safe and clean, essential daily products, we were extremely thrilled to be showcased on such a significant news magazine.
Read the article below.
With the end of 2021 in sight, Looking back I think we can safely say that we have all endured many challenges, changes and transformation. As we look ahead to 2022 let’s try and meet the new year with fresh eyes and the focus on opportunities for new beginnings. Let’s try to meet this new year with a sense of hope moving toward a new normal as we navigate our lives with more confidence, ease and way less fear.
I think the key to feeling confident and empowered is through taking care and taking charge of our health and wellness by looking after our mental, physical and emotional well-being. We all have to start exactly where we are with no judgments. It is in the simple incremental things that you do and incorporate daily that add up into the big picture.
I’d like to offer a list of wellness trends that are on the rise for 2022 to help get you started.
This list is meant to inspire you rather than overwhelm you, so relax, take a breath and allow new and fresh ideas to wash over you.
As you read the list, tune in to yourself and see which ones inspire, resonate or spark your curiosity.
For now, enjoy and imagine the possibilities of a new year and a new you!

You would be surprised at how practicing focused breathing techniques can quickly change your body, mind and emotions. By sitting in a comfortable chair and practicing a simple technique called the box breath for 5 minutes, you can reset your entire system. There are many resources, also on Youtube, for trying all kinds of breath techniques which are very effective in calming the nervous system and emotions.
Box Breathing
Step 1: Breathe in counting to four slowly. Feel the air enter your lungs.
Step 2: Hold your breath for 4 seconds.
Step 3: Slowly exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds.
Step 4: Hold the exhale for 4 seconds: Repeat steps 1 to 4 until you feel re-centered.
Meditation is the key to mental fitness. It is like lifting weights for your mind. The more you practice the stronger you become. With consistent practice you can train yourself to be able to redirect the current of your thoughts and navigate away from negative thoughts.
Meditation will also strengthen your ability to quiet the mind with more ease. With consistent practice you will begin to condition your mind to respond at your will and command. Sounds good right?
All you have to do is start and be consistent just like working out, after some time you will start to see the positive changes. There are loads of meditation apps that can help you stay on track. We all need support and coaching at times and the apps are like having a virtual coach that will help you not only get started but also stay on track. It’s like training wheels until you are able to ride on your own. We all have to start somewhere and this is an extremely effective tool!
Here are a few of the top meditation apps:
1. Calm
3. Headspace
4. Buddhify
Download one now and get started today!
Self-care is looking after yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. It is filling your cup up with an activity that raises your energy levels and brings you into alignment with your center and true essence.
Try this exercise: Write down a list of things that you would like to do for yourself that would be restorative, replenishing, healing or just fun! It could be a bath, massage, yoga class, reading a good book, horseback riding, taking a dance class etc…
Free your mind and allow yourself to indulge. Add to your list whatever it is you can imagine. Now look at your list and pick something/s that you can do right now and incorporate into your life that will recharge your batteries and make you feel good.
Self- care is necessary for creating balance in our busy lives. It’s taking a break from all the many roles we play for our family, friends and community. Take some time to unplug and tune in to that still part inside of yourself that reconnects you with the essence of who you truly are. Things that make you go ahhhhhhh… 😱
You don’t have to work out hard to make a difference!
Let’s face it, most of us are not in our 20’s anymore and we can let go of the version of work outs we used to do and adopt workouts that feel more appropriate for this phase of life. There is no one size fits all.
Listen to your body and do what feels right and feels good. There are so many different kinds of workouts these days. Let go of your old videos and find something new. Youtube is a great resource for this.
One of my favorite channels is by Maddie Lymburner.
These workouts will kick your but in the most gentle way! Check out her app too. It’s a great tool to stay on track with a virtual coach. Just do it! 💪
Our emotions are part of the human experience, we ARE emotional beings. That is a good thing, except when our emotions start to rule our lives and we lose a sense of control. Emotions can be like a ride on a rollercoaster.
There are practices that can help navigate through our emotions, helping us to better understand the underpinnings and be able to then heal the triggers that stir these emotions.
Emotions are like clouds passing. If we adopt practices that can help calm the emotions, we have a better opportunity to move through them with more ease, bringing one back to a neutral, natural state of mind.
Some practices and healing modalities that help with balancing overactive emotions are:
1. Yoga
2. Meditation
3. Walking outside in fresh air
4. Breathing techniques
5. Holographic Repatterning (look this one up for advanced healing)
6. Dancing
Are you in need of a social media cleanse? Are you ruled by your electronics? It’s time to set some boundaries so you can take back control. Step off the hamster wheel of checking your phone, computer, social media etc…and allow yourself to tune into the natural rhythm of nature and the universe.
Tap into the infinite creative space around you and allow for new thoughts, inspirations and ideas to come through. You can’t do that if you are constantly checking your phone! Start with a few days and see how you feel.
Make sure to incorporate a meditative practice while detoxing so you can feel the deeper health benefits with more clarity. When you return to your regular digital routine you will have a fresh perspective and a little more control.
Some wisdom that I learned long ago is to “make my NOT to do list!” We, as a society, tend to fill our list with so many things that we end up always feeling defeated because of our unrealistic goals!
Begin by scaling back and prioritizing the most important things and simplify your list so that you can feel victorious every day. This is much better for your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. It’s also a great way to keep yourself from feeling rushed and stressed all the time.
Stress weakens our immune system! Practice simplifying to keep the stress at bay each day.
I hope this list inspires and helps you to imagine new ideas and healthy things to try. Your power is in showing up every day to meet your practice, whatever that may be. The practice is in your commitment and persistence. And, always remember practice makes progress!
I’d like to wish you all a safe and fun New Year Holiday weekend. Then, let 2022 be about taking care of you! 💙
Wishing you all the best in health, peace and love,
Kim Keeshin
Using Cruelty-Free products is important. Here’s why:
Firstly, I would like to say how proud we are to be one of the 2,000 companies that are Leaping Bunny certified! You can find Chiki Buttah featured in the Leaping Bunny directory which exists to connect Cruelty-Free companies with compassionate consumers.
Simply put, we do not test our products on innocent animals. Futhermore, none of the suppliers from which we source all of our ingredients do any animal testing of any kind. Being certified with Leaping Bunny means that you, the consumer, can feel confident about the products that you get from Chiki Buttah to have the utmost integrity.
For me, it’s extremely important to offer Cruelty-Free products because not only do we care about the innocent animals but we also care about the health of our customers. We aim to support our community with clean, chemical free products. There is no need for tests when you rely on ingredients from Mother Nature!
Most importantly, we offer Cruelty-Free products for pain relief! It gives me great joy to know that I have helped someone feel better with my all- natural pain relief balms.
Over and over again people approach our booth at shows and ask if our balms really work. We tell them that it does and here’s a sample to try right now. They are simply amazed at how fast and effective our Cannabliss and Chiki Chill balms work!
The best part? This lessens the need for so many medications and pharmaceuticals that are really unhealthy and hard on the body.
We also have cruelty-free skin care. In case you’re wondering, a quick internet search will easily yield dozens of MAJOR brands that STILL TEST on animals such as Loreal, Nars, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Maybelline, Revlon,Clinique, Almay, Max Factor, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Sephora, Avon, Mary Kay, Proctor and Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and on and on.
Most personal care products are full of toxic chemicals. When you purchase these commercial products, not only are you undermining your health, but you’re also supporting the companies that are NOT cruelty free and allowing them to continue doing harm to animals as well as the people that buy their products.
As a reminder, if there is one ingredient to always stay away from it would be fragrance. If you see fragrance in any of your products, that is an obvious indication that there are lots of chemicals present. You can learn to become a label detective and get in the know about some of the most common toxic ingredients to avoid.
If you are looking to nourish your skin the natural way, check out our amazing Chiki Buttah whipped body butter! It is super nourishing and cruelty free so you can feel good about putting it on your skin.
Also, check out our Chiki Face. I call it my instant youth cream! It has hyaluronic acid, aloe and mango butter plus so much more! It plumps the skin and locks the moisture in all day long.
We love being part of Leaping Bunny’s Cruelty-Free program and their community of conscious buyers. We take pride in having the utmost integrity when it comes to handcrafting our organic products and making them available and affordable to anyone who chooses to take charge of their health.
Wishing you all the best in health, peace and love,
Kim Keeshin
This is a subject that I will be talking more about in future blogs. I can’t stress enough the importance of reading labels on our products and educating ourselves on the ingredients to avoid. This is a perfect example of why.
You may have noticed the spate of articles coming out recently regarding dangerous and EXTREMELY TOXIC hand sanitizers. These are, typically, the less expensive hand sanitizers that are prevalent and often found at big chain stores. Some are well-known American brands that have their products made overseas. Many articles describe hand sanitizers that are found to be flammable, toxic, dangerous for your health and even – deadly. Many are being recalled!
The FDA’s latest warning to consumers and health care providers involves hand sanitizers LABELED as containing ethanol, but tested positive for methanol.* Methanol, also known as wood alcohol can be toxic when absorbed through the skin and deadly if swallowed.
*Note: Sadly, some companies are intentionally misleading with their ingredients. That’s when it becomes important to trust your brand.
The list has now grown to 75 sanitizers to avoid, some of which have already been recalled and some the FDA is recommending that they be recalled. These are the very hand sanitizers that you see in the chain stores like CVS, Walmart, Costco and others.
Find all natural, non toxic hand sanitizer here.
Another problem is that many establishments that are open are required to supply hand sanitizer on the counters for their customers and these are the hand sanitizers that they are providing!
This is, yet another lesson and mirror to pay close attention to what we are putting on our skin and in our bodies! We can no longer assume that the products we use, or are offered, are fine. We have to read the labels and have a general foundation of knowledge of what chemicals to avoid.
I think about health and wellness not just for myself but for everyone! I especially think about babies and kids today and the bombardment of these chemicals in our food and body care products and the effect it can have on our short term and long term health.
Here is a list of ingredients to avoid:
1.Methanol
2.Fragrance
3.Parfum
4.Petroleum
5.Parabens
6.Aluminum
7.Methylisothiazolinone (MIT)
8.Triclosan
9.Polyethylene Glycols and Polysorbate (PEGs)
10.Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and all sulfates
11.Propylene Glycol
12.DEA, TEA, MEA
13.Formaldehyde
14.Benzyl Alcohol
15.BHA and BHT
16.Isopropyl Alcohol (derived from petroleum)
17.Benzalkonium Chloride (BAC)
Here is a link to the environmental working group: EWG. You can have access to an updated database of the most recent chemicals found in products.
Companies are always finding new ways to cut costs and use cheap chemical fillers and preservatives. Especially these days, with corporate regulations being lifted to increase profitability, it puts even more of an onus on the consumer to look out for their own well-being and read all labels.
In general, try to avoid cheap commercial brands that seem artificial, and look for something that has real ingredients that you can pronounce!
If you are unsure about a product, brand or ingredient you can go to the EWG site and put the name of the product or ingredient and it will show you the level of toxicity and concern. A fantastic resource!
These days the name of the game is taking care of our health like never before. This is the foundation for strengthening our immune systems.
It doesn’t matter how healthy your lifestyle is, if you keep dousing yourself with these harmful chemicals everyday it’s going to weaken and suppress your immune system. Take charge now, be proactive and become a label detective! Choose clean products and you will feel better.
Yes it takes a little work to educate yourself and your family in the beginning, but the payoff is much greater. You and your family will stay safer and healthier, extend your life and get to spend more quality time with your loved ones.
Wishing you all the best in health, peace and love,
Kim Keeshin
Simply put, organic foods have a higher nutritional content than non-organic foods because of the way that they are grown.
Organic farming ensures that the plants are sown in mineral-rich soils and without the use of pesticides, like roundup. Pesticides will literally kill and destroy all living organisms! They kill off the very things that make the plants healthy and nutrient dense. Not to mention, that we absorb the unhealthy pesticides that are embedded in the plants. These are the main reasons to choose organic foods for yourself and your family.
There is a beautiful symbiosis present in mineral-rich soil where there is an ecosystem of microbes that feed off of the minerals. This makes the minerals more bioavailable for the plants to feed off of. These microbes help and enable the plant to extract more nutrients from the earth. Therefore, when we eat these plants we will benefit from all of the nutrients! This increases our body’s absorption of the nutrients and improves our digestion of the foods. It’s a win-win! This short video explains the relationship between microbes and healthy soil.
Industrial agriculture has adopted many unhealthy non-organic farming practices that are literally ruining our soils and causing what is referred to as desertification (fertile land becoming desert). Besides decreasing the value of our food these practices are the biggest contributor to global warming!
There is a must see documentary on Netflix that explains it all in a very palatable way. Spoiler alert: There is hope!
“Kiss The Ground” A beautiful and well-done piece of work! Here is a link to the trailer:
Please pass this on to your friends and family. We all need to be educated on the benefits of organic farming so that we can then be on the same page to manifest positive change at this crucial juncture to reverse global warming and its consequences! Together, we can all learn how it’s possible to preserve our beautiful planet earth for generations to come. Enjoy!
Wishing you all the best in health, peace and love,
Kim Keeshin
We love our community and want to help people feel safe and be healthy. Washing your hands often and eating whole, organic foods are good ways to keep your immune system healthy.
Carrying a travel-sized hand sanitizer is now a staple item to have in the car or carry in your bag.
Keep in mind that some hand sanitizers in the market are full of chemicals that can be harmful for your skin, cause severe dryness or allergy response. Also, some hand sanitizers can simply be ineffective against contaminations.
There are dangerous and extremely toxic hand sanitizers out there. These are typically the less expensive hand sanitizers that are prevalent and often found at big chain stores. The FDA’s warning to consumers and health care providers involves hand sanitizers LABELED as containing Ethanol, but TESTED positive for Methanol. Methanol, also known as alcohol, can be toxic when absorbed through the skin and deadly if swallowed.
I think about health and wellness not just for myself but for everyone! I especially think about babies and kids today, and the bombardment of these chemicals in our food and body care products. I worry about the effect it can have on our short term and long term health – as well as the environment.
As the numbers continue to rise these days, the name of the game is taking care of our health like never before.

Too many hand sanitizers on the market do not meet the above criteria and in fact many articles and studies have come out about the dangerous toxic chemicals in many of them. This is why it is so important for us to read labels – not just for what we eat but also what we put on our skin.
Many articles describe hand sanitizers that are found to be flammable, toxic, dangerous for your health and even – deadly. Many of these are sold at chain stores and have been recalled
However, when it comes to ORGANIC hand sanitizers, studies show that they minimize the risk of gastrointestinal and respiratory infections.
